Dispatch

We are dispatched on emergency calls by the Pittsylvania County Department of Emergency Management & Communications Center (C - COM). Stations are dispatched by radio with tone alerting in addition to a printout of each call, which is received at the station on a "rip and run" printer as it is dispatched.

The tones you hear at the beginning are our actual tones. We are a single organization, however when dispatched, we are referred to as "Station 25" for Fire calls and as "Squad 25" for EMS calls. Members carry county/department issued pagers/radios which alert them to emergency calls, and enables them to respond to the station, or directly to the scene of an emergency.

For communications within our dept., we have our own 100 watt Motorola repeater system which provides capability to transmit messages and page all of our members.
