Antique Unit 4

Unit 4
The truck pictured above was the first piece of firefighting
apparatus to protect what was known as the Sharon Community. It is a 1946 Oren
fire truck on a Ford chassis. It has a 2 stage hale pump and a tank of unknown
capacity at his time.
This unit was often carried nearby, to the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) for standby on weekends. On an unknown date this unit became disabled and was never retrieved. In March of 2000, VIR reopened for operation, and during reconstruction of their facilities our truck was located. Unfortunately it was found badly damaged from years of harsh weather, scavengers and neglect.
